Drizzle Cakes
For: Client
Year: 2024
The Brand: At the beginning stages of setting up her at-home bakery, my client sought a distinctive logo that would capture her signature "drizzle" effect on her cakes and include a purple color to honor her mother, who taught her to bake. Embracing this heartfelt vision, I crafted a logo that beautifully integrates these elements.
In addition to the logo, I designed a cohesive set of stationery items, including business cards and menus for pop-up events. Currently, I'm also working on developing a visually appealing and user-friendly website to further elevate her brand presence.

The Campaign: In my semester-long project, I delved into the ethics of McDonald's advertising practices, focusing on how they target vulnerable communities such as people of color, and children and adolescents. Through extensive research, I explored how McDonald's can reshape its communication strategies to engage these audiences ethically, benefiting the company and its target demographics.
This capstone aimed to develop a comprehensive communication plan for McDonald's, ensuring a more responsible approach to advertising while maintaining and boosting effectiveness.

In light of National Nutrition Month, McDonald’s will introduce the Hearty Happy Meal campaign March 1, 2024, along with the addition of new sweet potato fries. The Hearty Happy Meal campaign will be an 8-month trial run campaign, ending Nov. 1, with the goal to entice kids to choose healthier sides as an incentive to get a Happy Meal toy.
Additionally in March, kids will receive a mini educational game on nutrition if they choose a healthier side option.
In continuation of the Hearty Happy Meal campaign, McDonald’s will bring back Happy Meal Halloween Pails for 2024, in addition to introducing a new, green apple flavored, applesauce side. Kids will only receive the decorative Halloween pail if they purchase the Green Goblin Applesauce as a side.
